To say that I was impressed with this new little family would be an understatement! The parents seemed like pros even though their baby is just under a month old. They knew all of the tricks, they were so calm, and they looked uh-mazing! We soaked up the easiness of just being inside their home and doing a lifestyle shoot focusing on the family (including their dog Henry who was quite talented at stealing the show)! How sweet is a mama and her first baby?!?

This was quite possibly my most favorite unplanned family session I have ever done (besides of course, taking picture of my babies!) I couldn’t wait to share these pictures, but being that they were a surprise for their mama, I had to wait several weeks before posting online! I consider these boys to be part of my family…they belong to a dear friend of mine that I have been BFFs with for 15 years. They wanted to surprise her with a going away present since she will be at the Oregon State Police Academy (aka bootcamp) for 6 months…I can’t imagine being away from my babies for that long! Anyhow, we thought it would be fun to surprise her with some hand painted picture frames full of photos of the handsome men in her life. We headed to the park to play and captured some moments of the boys just being boys! Congrats Andi, I am so proud of you!

I am excited to launch my new blogsite for my photography adventures, thank you for visiting! This blogsite has been in the “making” for about a year now. We started working on it last year before I had my 2nd baby girl and have worked on it here and there in between raising a toddler and a baby. I am thankful to have a husband that is techie…he has poured many hours into this project as well and I am so grateful to have his support!

I still consider being a mommy my #1 job which you all know, but I will be scheduling sessions this year! I plan to book during the non-rainy months which will range anywhere from April to November. I may throw in a shoot here and there between the off months, depending on how the weather is. I will be doing mini-sessions throughout the year as well–they are so much fun! Please stay tuned for those dates as I will be announcing those sessions here on my blogsite as well as on Facebook. This was probably one of my most favorite shoots ever! Nicole and Patrick are both teachers, so we did their engagement shoot at a local bus barn. We had such a good time laughing, dancing, and shooting!

The Renker family did a quick mini session with me last fall. Their little girls are adorable and so sweet! I do Stroller Strides with their mama, who is a great friend and workout partner. Love you guys!

I adore these kiddos! They are so well mannered, a ton of fun, and you can tell that they love each other like crazy!

Hudson was the sweetest baby boy at just a week old. This was such a fun session for me, as I decided to ditch the beanbag, props, and posing, and went for a comfortable, take-it-how it is approach for photographing newborns from now on. Although I love cute babies in fancy hats and baskets, my heart has led me to pursue more lifestyle images of mamas and daddies with their precious little ones…I want the focus to be on the babies–not the props–and for the families to be comfortable in their own surroundings as they adjust to life with a new baby. As soon as we finished, I knew I was in love with the realness and authenticity of this type of session. Who doesn’t love a baby curled up in their mamas arms?
